You will use this plant as a decoration for the festive season in every way. Learning to draw a holly tree is a wonderful way to get in the vacation spirit even further!

How to Draw A Holly
Step 1
We’ll start with the three red berries in the centre for the first step of our holly drawing guide. To do this, you can draw three hoops next to each other.
These hoops aren’t ideal, so feel free to draw them freehand.
After drawing, you can add some details to them. These details include drawing a small circular shape near the centre of each berry.
Then we also drew some simple curved lines near the base of each berry for more detail.
Step 2
While holly is known for its bright red berries, it’s just as distinctive thanks to the unusual leaves attached to it.
We will add the first of these leaves to this part of your holly design. The outline of the leaf has many sharp parts, so that you can use multiple curved lines culminating in these sharp points.
Once you’ve outlined, let’s draw some interior details. To do this, draw a curved line in the middle, and several more curved lines emerge.
Once we have this first sheet, as in our reference image.
Step 3
You have drawn a leaf, and how to draw a holly in this guide, so you should have more fun drawing!
You’re repeating what you did in the previous step for this third part. This means that we will draw a pattern with a curved line that will form the pointed spikes that will break out of the leaf.
We also need to add the inner vein detail on the inside of the leaf as we did before. The next step is to add only one sheet. So if you’re ready, let’s move on!
Step 4
For the fourth stage of your holly picture, we’ll start by drawing the third and final leaf of the plant.
This final sheet fills in the last space left on the lower right side of the design.
As with the others, outline with a few curved lines for more signature-pointed tips.
Once this profile is ready, the next step will be to complete the final details.
To complete this final leaf, you must draw a little more of those vein details onto the leaf. That means drawing a central curved line again, with smaller ones sticking out.
This will complement the holly, but there is also room for creative accents. Holly is often part of wreaths and other traditional Christmas decorations, so it might be fun to design a backdrop incorporating this holly.
Alternatively, you could draw a background showing where this holly would have grown in the wild.
Step 5
Something is missing from the last leaf you drew; we will fix it in this step of our how to draw a holly tree guide.
To complete this final leaf, you must draw a little more of those vein details onto the leaf. That means drawing a central curved line again, with smaller ones sticking out.
This will complement the holly, but there is also room for creative accents. Holly is often part of wreaths and other traditional Christmas decorations, so it might be fun to design a backdrop incorporating this holly.
