8 Best Main Characters In Octopath Traveler 2

by admin

There are eight playable characters in Octopath Traveler 2, but they are not all the same.

When it came out on the Switch in 2018, Octopath Traveler was a unique game. It was a return to the turn-based RPGs that Square Enix made in the SNES era. The new art style, which Square Enix called “HD-2D,” made it look and play like those games. Since then, Square Enix has made more games like this, such as Triangle Strategy and Live A Live, and announced more, such as a remake of Dragon Quest 3.

Octopath Traveler 2 is the same as the first game, which should please people who liked the first game. They get to play eight different characters, such as Castti and Partitio, who all have their own stories. For character introductions, there are also people who aren’t in the main party, but this talk will be about the main party. Which of the main characters in Octopath Traveler 2 do you like the most?

Agnea

Agnea

Agnea is a Dancer, which is a role-playing game (RPG) class that can take many different forms. She has some spells and skills that help the group, but that’s not what her class is known for. Her skills let her get things for free from NPCs, which is the same as stealing.

Like other characters in the game, Agnea can make friends with and call on NPCs, but when she does, those NPCs’ abilities will change. It’s a good change from other summoning skills, but she’s a weak party member overall, and her story isn’t very interesting either. She wants to dance to make everyone happy, and there isn’t much else to care about.

Partitio

Partitio

Partitio is a Merchant who lives in a town like the Wild West when he is young. Players can take on his role and play through the ages until they finally get rid of the bad landlords in his city. After that, Partitio goes on a trip to help his town even more by making better deals.

It is a better story than Agnea’s, but Partitio is just as weak in battle. He doesn’t have very many interesting skills. He can call on NPCs for money or buy things from strangers, which are basically his versions of the classic stealing skill. Both are rougher versions of Path Actions from other characters that were better.

Castti

Castti

Castti is an Apothecary, so she uses things. In Octopath Traveler 2, she is one of the two main healers, which usually means that she is weak. Even though Castti is good at making potions, she also has a good set of other skills. Castti can mix potions to make new concoctions, which is a lot like Rikku’s item ability in Final Fantasy 10.

Castti can use medicine to knock out NPCs in town so she can get past them or ask them questions to find secrets. Castti’s actions aren’t very strong, and her story isn’t very interesting either, since she lost her memory and is looking for some bad Apothecaries. She is a good party member, though, both offensively and defensively.

Ochette

Ochette

Ochette is a Hunter who is good with a bow. With her Hunter skill, she can catch monsters and then use them in battle. She can also call on NPCs, but unlike these, monsters don’t stay around. Ochette can also turn monsters into food. This is how she gets NPCs to join her group. Another option is to eat the food.

She has the ability to knock out enemies after a dual, but it’s one of the weaker Path Actions for any character to have. In Ochette’s story, she goes on a quest to defeat some bad monsters, which leads to some cool bosses.

Throné

Throné

Most RPG fans should know that Throné is a Thief, which is a class. Like many other characters, she can knock out enemies, but her literal Steal Path Action is the best one in the game. It can help players get great gear early on, which can help them win Happy Wheels game. Even when the odds are low, players who keep at it can get through.

She is an average fighter in battle, but her ability to steal makes her a top party member. Throné’s story is also interesting because she is a slave who is trying to get out of her chains.

Osvald

Osvald

Osvald is a Scholar, which in this world means he is a mage, and he is the strongest mage you can play as in Octopath Traveler 2. He uses science to make his spells more powerful, which made his friend jealous. Eventually, he set Osvald up for murder. After getting out of jail, Osvald is out to get his own back.

The beginning of this story is slow, but it gets better. In addition to his amazing spells, Osvald can also learn secrets from non-player characters. But his Mug Path Action is better, and it comes in close second to Throné’s Steal because Osvald can fight NPCs to steal their entire inventory.

Hikari

Hikari

Hikari is a Warrior, so she is Octopath Traveler 2’s strongest melee fighter. His power in battle is unmatched, but he has the kindest heart. He is also out to get revenge on his brother, who destroyed his kingdom. Hikari is a beast in battle, and his story is also great.

The only bad thing about him is that his Path Actions aren’t very good. One gives information and the other knocks out NPCs. Challenge, his knockout ability, does let him copy moves, which is a cool feature.

Temenos

Temenos

Temenos is a Cleric, but he is so much more than just a healer. He’s cool because he’s also like a detective. He is trying to find out why a magical beast was used to kill a priest at a church. It’s the most interesting story in Octopath Traveler 2, so fans might want to get through it as quickly as possible.

This could be hard, though, because level gates are one of the game’s bigger problems. Besides being able to heal, Temenos also has a good list of skills. The only bad thing about Temenos is that he can summon NPCs and get information like everyone else.

Octopath Traveler 2 was released on PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch on February 24, 2023.
