Encased
Encased is a science fiction role-playing game that takes place in an alternate version of the 1970s. It came out in 2021 and has been compared to Fallout a lot, especially the first few games, because of the way it fights, how it looks from above, and how it works in general.

The game’s creators say that Broken Roads has real Australian locations that look like the real world in the same way that Slope Game has done for decades. There’s a party system that lets you do a lot of different things. And you can build up your character over many hours of play.
UnderRail
UnderRail is a lot more retro than its competitors. It came out in 2015, but it looks like it was made a long time ago. At its core, it’s an old-school game, and at first glance. You might think it’s one of the first Fallout games. It’s a classic isometric role-playing game that puts a lot of emphasis on exploration and new ways to fight, both of which are important parts of the Fallout series.
UnderRail takes place in a subway system, just like the Russian series Metro. Which is about the end of the world. The surface is gone, and the world is falling apart. But the metro systems are still there, and that’s where the game takes place.
New Blood’s CRPG
At the time of writing, New Blood Interactive is making a CRPG. That is very similar to the old Fallout games. It looks exactly like Fallout from 1997, down to the way the main character stands and talks and the way combat works and the HUD. Some people might say it’s an exact copy. But it’s more of a sci-fi game that tries to fix what was wrong with Fallout.
For example, the developers say that combat will be much faster and more interesting than in the first Fallout games. Some of the people who work on the New Blood CRPG used to work on some of the older Fallout projects, which is pretty cool.
The Ascent
The Ascent is a co-op action RPG with a cyberpunk theme that takes place in a dystopian world. It came out in 2021, and people have called it “mind-blowing” in the past. It’s much more exciting and visceral than the original Fallout games, with amazing visual effects and intense, high-octane combat, but it’s still a great alternative.
